The depths of Tahoe are a thing of legend, both the Lake’s cobalt blue waters and the mountain’s bottomless snow. On deep powder days, chairlift rides are filled with stories of overhead turns, tunneling face shots, even the occasional claim of a Jacques Cousteau sighting (he did once captain a submarine in Lake Tahoe). One thing is certain, there are many times when a snorkel comes in handy on the slopes in Tahoe.

Last year’s Godzilla El Nino season took the internet by storm with Lake Tahoe powderhounds posting photos that made the drool freeze on envious skiers and snowboarders. Buried cars, marshmallow-covered trees, snow-puffed pillow drops – we’ve compiled some of the best of these shots from last season into the mind-blowing photo gallery below. Please help us seed the clouds for another snowcapped season in Tahoe this winter by sharing your personal powder shots on Ski Lake Tahoe’s social media channels (#SkiLakeTahoe) for a chance to win free lift tickets.
