Driving Directions to Lake Tahoe

Three major arteries - Interstate 80 and U.S. Highways 50 and 395 - will carry you to the Lake Tahoe region. These all-weather freeways branch out to reach resorts and lodging properties throughout Reno, North Shore, and South Shore, so it's easy to get from one dazzling destination to another.

To North Shore
Take I-80 west to Truckee (approx 34 miles)
Exit #185 to Hwy 89 south
Follow to Tahoe City

To South Shore
Take Hwy 395 South (approx. 31 miles)
Right on Hwy 50 to South Lake Tahoe
(approx 25 miles)


From Sacramento/Bay Area

To North Shore
From Sacramento Take I-80 east (approx. 98 miles)
Exit #185 to Hwy 89 S

Air Access to Lake Tahoe

Lake Tahoe's fabled ski resorts are an easy one hour's drive from the Reno-Tahoe International Airport the gateway to Lake Tahoe. With more than 170 daily flights to and from 19 non-stop destinations, joining the Brotherhood of the Blue is easier than ever.

Lake Tahoe can also be accessed through Sacramento International Airport (approximately 120 miles from Lake Tahoe) and San Francisco International Airport (approximately 200 miles away).
