1. I'm looking for a job at one of the ski resorts. Can I send you my resume?
Ski Lake Tahoe is not a single ski resort, and it does not handle seasonal employment requests. Please contact one of the member ski resorts directly for more information about employment and the dates of their winter job fairs.

2. Where can we find ski-in/ski-out lodging?
Of the Ski Lake Tahoe resorts, Squaw Valley, Northstar California, Kirkwood and Heavenly have near-slope (within walking distance) and on-slope lodging available, either through their websites or central reservations phone numbers.

3. When does the ski season begin and end?
The Ski Lake Tahoe resorts usually open in mid-November, just before or on the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. The resorts remain open through mid to end of April, with a few resorts - including Alpine Meadows and Squaw Valley - remaining open as late as May.

4. Are the ski resorts open at the end of April?
Yes - most of the Ski Lake Tahoe resorts stay open through April, though it's recommended you check with the individual resorts.

5. What is the weather like in March & April? Will we be able to ski?
March and April mean fantastic spring skiing at Lake Tahoe. A deep snow pack combined with sunny days result in great spring skiing conditions.

6. Where can we purchase an interchangeable ticket for the Ski Lake Tahoe resorts?
You can purchase the Ski Lake Tahoe Interchangeable ticket from travel agents and tour operators including Travelocity, among others. You cannot purchase the ticket at the resorts directly.

7. Where can we rent skis/snowboards at Lake Tahoe?
You can rent at any of the Ski Lake Tahoe resorts, and many have demo programs with the latest skis and snowboards. There are also numerous shops around the lake that rent equipment, and some hotels, condos and casino resorts have rentals on-site.

8. Where can we rent ski clothing for adults and children?
Tahoe Dave's on the North Shore offers clothing rentals and on the South Shore, Rainbow Mountain. It's recommended that you call in advance to confirm availability.

9. How do we get from San Francisco to Lake Tahoe? Is there regular shuttle service?
There is not regular shuttle service from San Francisco to Lake Tahoe, but Amtrak and the Bay Area Ski Bus are two options. If you're renting a vehicle, it's about a 3.5 - 4 hour drive to Lake Tahoe.

10. How do we get from Reno-Tahoe International Airport to Lake Tahoe?
There is regular shuttle service available to both North and South shores, or it's approximately a one hour drive if you rent a car.

11. Is there inter-resort shuttle service?
There is no shuttle service between resorts, but a number of resorts offer free shuttle service to and from local accommodations. Please check with your lodging and the ski resorts directly for the most accurate information.

12. Do any resorts offer tubing or sledding?
Sierra-at-Tahoe® offers tubing and snowshoeing. Kirkwood has tubing, ice-skating, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, snowmobile tours and dog sledding. Heavenly offers tubing sleigh rides and ice-skating. On the North Shore, Northstar California offers tubing,  cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, and ice skating. Squaw Valley offers ice-skating, tubing, cross-country skiing, dog sledding and even an outdoor swimming pool at the top of the cable car.

13. Do any resorts offer night skiing?
Squaw Valley is the only resort that currently offers night skiing.

14. Which resorts have adaptive skiing programs?
The Tahoe Adaptive Snowsports Program is located at Alpine Meadows, and other resorts with instructors and programs include Squaw Valley, Heavenly and Kirkwood. For more information please contact the resort ski school programs.

15. Our ski club is planning a trip to Lake Tahoe. Do you offer group discounts?
The individual ski resorts are well suited to handling groups and their needs. Please contact the resorts directly for more information and planning.

16. Where can we find season passes for multiple resorts?
The Epic Pass is valid at Heavenly, Kirkwood and Northstar California, and the Tahoe Super Pass is valid at both Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows, and in some cases, Sierra-at-Tahoe.

17. We're planning a trip in February and would like to rent a 3- bedroom condo with a hot tub. Can you help?
Ski Lake Tahoe is not a central reservations service, and is unable to assist with specific individual (or group) requests. Please contact one of the Ski Lake Tahoe resorts directly, as many of them have central reservations services that can help you customize your winter vacation.

18. Are snowskates and snowbikes allowed at the ski resorts?
Heavenly, Kirkwood, Northstar California and Sierra-at-Tahoe allow both snowskates and snowbikes. Mt. Rose-Ski Tahoe allows snowskates but not snowbikes. Leashes are required by all the resorts. Neither snowskates or snowbikes are allowed at Alpine Meadows or Squaw Valley.

19. Do any Ski Lake Tahoe resorts offer military discounts?
Many of the Ski Lake Tahoe resorts offer active duty military personnel discounts, and in some cases free skiing. Sierra-at-Tahoe offers all is offering active duty military personnel FREE skiing or riding on (non-holiday) Sundays. Alpine Meadows & Squaw Valley offer active duty military complimentary lift tickets valid Sunday-Friday, non-holiday. Mt. Rose-Ski Tahoe offers $39 discounted lift tickets for Department of Defense active personnel, available at Guest Services. Northstar California offers a discount on daily lift tickets to active duty military and their dependents (not retired military).
