Where the celebrities play

I am not a golfer. I’ve never been a “ball-and-stick sports” kind of girl, preferring instead to run, bike, or board my way around for fun. But I can definitely see the appeal of golf – it combines physical activity, skill, and balance in an open outdoor setting. Golf is a mental exercise, for sure; a meditation even.

Summer in North Lake Tahoe

If you ask a local how they ended up in Lake Tahoe, more often than not, they will respond with: “I came here for the winter but stayed because of the summer.”

July 4th celebrations (and more) at Lake Tahoe

Summertime at Lake Tahoe means much more than long days and bright California sunshine. It’s a time to play outside on the lake, on the trails or on the links. It’s also an ideal time to sample some of the many fun events happening at the Ski Lake Tahoe resorts.

7 Top Hikes at Lake Tahoe

It’s normal to assume that the ski resorts shut down once the winter is over. That’s not the case at Lake Tahoe. Northstar, Squaw Valley, Heavenly and Kirkwood turn into summer playgrounds, as trails once buried under the snow surface, providing ample opportunities for exploration and adventure.

Thanks to the recent rain and snow here in Tahoe, the mountain bike trails got a nice soaking, and will be prime as the warmer temps kick in this spring. Tahoe is home to a huge variety of mountain bike trails for all levels, many of which feature incredible views of the lake itself. Tahoe Golf 2015

With the opening of Bijou, we’re in full swing (see what I did there?) for Spring golf in Lake Tahoe. There’s added motivation to keep your shoulders loose and relaxed. If you aren’t already in mid-season form, re-grip your sticks, think positive, buy some new balls and get out for your first rounds of 2015.

Two events to get you over-the-green excited:

Memorial Day at Lake Tahoe

Memorial Day at Lake Tahoe is traditionally considered a precursor to summer – a taste of things to come. This year is no different as many of the Ski Lake Tahoe resorts open for summer operations. Even if you, like me, prefer your ski resorts under a blanket of snow, there are a myriad of different ways to experience your favorite runs in the off-season. Think hiking, mountain biking, or through the window of a tram. Here are a few ways you can sample Tahoe this holiday weekend.
