Wildflowers and guided hikes at Kirkwood this summer

Take a hike around the trails at Kirkwood during the summer months and you won’t be disappointed! Hikers will be rewarded with seemingly endless fields of vibrant wildflowers in shades of orange, purple, pink and red. For an extra breathtaking view, stick around for the sunset!

Wildflowers are typically most plentiful during July and early August. Here are some of the usual suspects you can look out for at Kirkwood. These are some of our more common varieties but there are plenty more out there, you just need to look!

Hiking at the Lake Tahoe ski resorts

We don't hide the fact that we love the ski resorts in winter, but did you know that we also love them in the summer? There are a ton of fun activities to enjoy here after the snow melts.

Hiking is just one of those activities, and the ski resorts have miles of trails for a wide variety of ability levels. Whether you’re seeking a gentle meadow stroll or are looking for some serious vertical, you have options at Lake Tahoe. Along with sunshine, stunning views, and an on-mountain restaurant or two.
