Back In the pre-FIS days of ski racing, before regulations, sanctions and rules, there were three preeminent events in all of Ski Country: Aspen held the Roch Cup , Sun Valley ran the Harriman Cup, and Sugar Bowl featured the famed Silver Belt. All three showcased the best talent from around the world, and bragging rights (and post-parties) were huge. While many of these events have fallen by the wayside, Sugar Bowl’s Silver Belt was revived in 2008, with a modern twist, and lives on as Tahoe’s largest freeskiing & riding event.

One of my favorite traditions of the Thanksgiving holiday festivities is when everyone at the table takes a couple quick minutes to tell everyone else at the table what it is they’re thankful for and why.

One of the many things I love about Tahoe is just how fast one season ends as another begins. This past weekend we all enjoyed summer-like temps on Friday and Saturday, a blustery autumn day on Sunday, and then full-on winter come Monday. Mountain biking one day, powder skiing the next.

When it comes to most things, more is better. More snow, more days on the slopes, more vacation time, more skis/snowboards in the quiver, more fun. So it should come as no surprise that we’re excited to announce that Ski Lake Tahoe has added more (specifically two) ski resorts as associate members – Sugar Bowl on the North Shore and Homewood Mountain Resort on the West Shore.
