As the saying goes, April showers bring fresh powder – or something like that...
It may be spring, but it sure feels like winter at Lake Tahoe this week. Storms have already brought up to 18 inches of new snow to the ski resorts, with more snow forecast through Friday! It’s a bittersweet end to the season for some of our ski resorts that close this Sunday, and a refresh for those resorts that will remain open through the end of the month and beyond. We’ve got the scheduled closing dates for our resorts below for your reference, just in case you want to squeeze in one (or two) more ski trips before the end of the season!
Ski Lake Tahoe Resort 2011/12 Season Scheduled Closing Dates
Alpine Meadows - April 29; the resort will then re-open Friday through Sunday through May 13, 2012, weather and conditions permitting
Heavenly - April 15, the resort will then re-open Friday through Sunday April 20-22, 2012, and April 27 - 29, 2012, weather and conditions permitting.
Kirkwood - April 22, the resort will then re-open Friday through Sunday as long as snow conditions will support skiing and snowboarding.
