Heavenly Mountain Resort is constantly evolving and improving. This year is no different – with new runs, new dining options, a new après party scene and many other additions to the on-mountain experience.
I’m the new Advertising Manager at Heavenly and I’m also new to the Lake Tahoe area, so it seemed only fitting that I write the blog post about the exciting new additions to Heavenly this season. We’ve made improvements to almost every aspect of the mountain, so I’ll just touch on a few of the major ones.
New Runs. When I first started visiting Heavenly in 2002, there were 86 trails. This year, we’re up to 97 with the addition of three new runs on the Nevada Side. All three are legitimate intermediate runs accessed by the Stagecoach Chair. Outlaw provides a scenic view bordered by trees while Mineshaft and Comstock are both fun little jaunts that provide a cutover to Galaxy. We also widened 5 runs on the California side so there will be plenty of space to spread out and enjoy our world-class grooming capabilities.
New Ski School Building. Also new for this season is our children’s ski school lodge, Bear Cave. If you’ve been to Tamarack Lodge, you will notice that Bear Cave’s design is modeled after that and includes over 2000 sq. ft. of fun just for kids. Outside the lodge, we’ve added an adventure zone called Black Bear Hollow where kids can learn to ski and ride in an interactive, safe environment.
New Outdoor Dining Experience. Steins, located at the bottom of Patsy’s, is a Euro-themed beer garden and Umbrella Bar with sausages, stews, and chili. You can’t beat the atmosphere on a bluebird day when you’re sitting in an Adirondack with a cold beer in one hand and a juicy brat in the other.
New Après Ski Party. Finally, and hands down my personal favorite of the new additions for this season, our Après Ski at Tamarack Lodge. I absolutely love après and all that it entails. This year, we are extending the hours at Tamarack and hosting THE premier après party in Tahoe. We’ll have food and drink specials, DJs spinning party tunes, and we’re bringing back the Heavenly Angels to host contests and giveaways.
We’d love to hear from you what you are most excited to check out this season so let us know.
