Tahoe resorts to see big storm this weekend

What could get us more excited about opening weekend at the Lake Tahoe ski resorts? A forecast for a major winter storm that brings cold temps and lots of snow!

National weather snowstorm iconThe National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning that is expected to bring ‘significant snow’, but we wanted some more specifics. How much, exactly? The Tahoe Weather Discussion blog has a great explanation, the short answer being that if it stays cold enough, upper elevations could see between 2 and 5 feet, with anywhere between 1-3 feet at lower elevations.
 
If you’re planning on skiing or riding this weekend, it’s a good idea to contact Heavenly, Mt. Rose, Northstar-at-Tahoe and Squaw Valley USA for the most updated resort operations and snow conditions.
 
Fresh snow and resort openings before Thanksgiving – does it get any better than that?
