Clearly the Ski Lake Tahoe resorts were very good this year, for
Santa Mother Nature was extremely generous. During the month of December, the 7 ski resorts received totals of 96 to 189 inches of snow, or over 15 FEET! The Ski Lake Tahoe resorts have already received more than 50 percent of their average annual snowfall totals, which made the 2012 Christmas holiday the second snowiest on record.
The ski resorts couldn’t be happier, and frankly, neither could we. The new snow allowed them to open 100 percent of their terrain with terrific mid-winter conditions to boot. With more than 125 chairlifts, 500 runs and 17,500 acres of terrain, there are options galore, whether you prefer the terrain park, the trees or groomed corduroy!
Cold temperatures are keeping the snow in great shape as we wait for the next round of snow, which may be here sooner than we think.
If one of your 2013 resolutions was to ski or ride more, you’re in luck. Now is the perfect time to plan that Lake Tahoe ski and snowboard vacation. Need inspiration? Check out the great resort deals & packages on offer.
