Sierra Love

Sierra Snowboarder at night

I am writing this with an ear-to-ear grin because twenty minutes ago I was making knee-deep powder turns in a foot of fresh snow with a group of amazing people. Sierra-at-Tahoe is truly a magical place. Winter has returned once again and the forecast is calling for more snow throughout the week and into March.

On one of my chairlift rides today I meet a very nice lady named Emily, who in-between hoots and hollers from the powder hounds below, explained to me that she is in “love” with Sierra because of its authenticity, quirkiness, and homey vibe.
As I thought a more about what Emily said, and how one could actually “love” a mountain, I realized that our authentic, non-scripted, warm fun-loving vibe is what makes Sierra so unique and something that you can’t get anywhere else around Lake Tahoe. We are committed to making sure that people enjoy their skiing and snowboarding experience and that they come back again, and again.
If you’ve never been to Sierra make sure to visit this winter and check out our new features like the Burton Star Wars Experience. The only program of its kind that teaches three to six year olds how to snowboard using iconic Star Wars characters and innovative technology from Burton.
Or, learn to ski and ride for only $35! Get a two and a half hour lesson, rentals, and limited lift ticket for an unbeatable price.  If you already know how to rip though grab a 3-Pak and ski/ride for $54 a day. They don’t need to be used consecutively and there are no blackout dates!
The closest major resort to Northern California and located right off Highway 50 Sierra is staying true to its roots which date all the way back to 1946.  Locally operated by passionate skiers/riders who live and play right here on South Shore, Sierra caters to guests who are looking for the simple pleasures of skiing: runs groomed with love, access to the top of the mountain even on windy days, innovative terrain parks, and a friendly, authentic atmosphere at an affordable price.
Come experience what Emily loves about Sierra and maybe you will fall in love with Sierra Resort too! See you on the mountain!
