Paddleboarding at Tahoe North

As temperatures of the air and lake warm, there are many North Lake Tahoe events to suit the needs of all. North Lake Tahoe businesses and organizations will host dozens of multi-day events from the mountains to the shores of the lake.

Calendared events include deck openings and parties. New this year, visitors and locals will be given passports in which they collect stamps at each business they visit. Filled passports can be turned in for prizes.

Human-Powered Sports
Lake Tahoe is prime vacationing for those who appreciate clean air, clear water, scenic views, and an elevated heart rate. Numerous North Tahoe events are designed to celebrate the environment in a natural way with human-powered sports.

Come challenge yourself at one of the many events including trail running, mountain biking, triathlon, stand up paddle boarding, and swimming at North Lake Tahoe Adventure Sports Week June, 20-29. Or enjoy some of the more friendly options like free guided hikes and rides as well as lakeside concerts and movies on the beach.

From June 21 – 29 Alpenglow Sports presents the Alpenglow Mountain Festival, a week full of friends, outdoor activities and good times. Events are focused around human-powered sports education and inspiration and include stand up paddleboard, yoga on SUP, bike rides, historic hikes, full moon hikes, wildflower hikes, meet & greets with athletes and more.

To maximize lake time, take a journey to the longest running stand up paddleboard race in the world, the Ta-hoe Nalu Festival in Kings beach August 15-17. Witness world-class athletes race over the crystal clear waters of Lake Tahoe, surrounded by the majestic Sierra Nevada. This paddle festival offers fun for all ages and skill levels. The Elite Race features a $10,000 prize. Perfect for all in the family, Ta-hoe Nalu Paddle Festival includes a live concert as well as free paddle clinics and demos.

Tough Mudder events are hardcore 10-12 mile obstacle courses designed by British Special Forces to test all around strength, stamina, mental grit, and camaraderie. Tough Mudder has already challenged more than half a million inspiring participants worldwide and raised more than $3 million for the Wounded Warrior Project. Tough Mudder will be returning to Northstar California for two days of challenge, August 16 and 17.

As part of more than 30 events in the global IRONMAN Series, IRONMAN Lake Tahoe is one of the most scenic and challenging courses. The Lake Tahoe event begins with a 2.2-mile open water swim, 112-mile bike course and a full marathon, ending at the cobbled corridors of the Village at Squaw Valley. This is an adrenalin-charged event, presenting a fun opportunity for visitors to watch or experience as volunteers. Two events will be held on September 21, the IRONMAN© and the American debut of the IRONMAN© 70.3.
