Holiday cheer fills the air in the Village at Northstar. Christmas music sets a playful tone as families skate the ice rink, take laps in a horse-drawn sleigh, admire the decorated tree and enjoy the California sunshine. It’s not often we get the chance to come together to celebrate time with family and ring in a brand new year. We at Northstar are just as excited as everyone for the festivities to come, so we’ve created holiday events to make the most of this special season.
We start it off in the days leading up to Christmas with all-day festivities in the Village, including sleigh rides, live music in the afternoons, pictures with Santa for the kids, even a chance for kids to write one more letter to Santa. Up on the mountain EpicMix photographers will be shooting photos with fun holiday cutouts for the goofballs in your family.
Santa himself will be getting a few runs in at Northstar on Christmas Eve before heading out for his big night. Find him skiing on the mountain or relaxing at one of the on-mountain lodges and say hi!
Also on Christmas Eve, you and your family can attend an interdenominational candlelight service in the Village before heading out to the rink for Turtleneck Tuesday Skate Nights. Turtleneck Tuesdays are all about retro so bring your style and moves to dance and skate to your favorite ‘70s and ‘80s music!
The family-friendly festivities will continue through New Year’s with our annual Fire & Ice New Year’s Celebration. The Village will be full of energy with ice skating, s’mores, face painting, shopping, and dining. A DJ in the afternoon and live music from the Killer Queens in the evening will bring the party atmosphere to Northstar as we finish out 2013 in proper style. The evening will be capped off with a spectacular fireworks show over the Village. Come for the evening or book a stay to be perfectly set up for New Year’s Day skiing and riding.
