What could be more romantic than spending a holiday weekend with your sweetie here at Lake Tahoe? The spectacular backdrop of the lake coupled with the new snow the ski resorts received last weekend makes it a perfectly picturesque retreat to celebrate Valentine’s Day. And the Ski Lake Tahoe resorts are getting into the spirit with a variety of unique ways to celebrate.
Some would posit that there is nothing more romantic than a snowshoe hike in moon through the beautiful High Sierra. Experience that during Kirkwood’s Full Moon Snowshoe. Not a night owl? There is also a daytime Sierra Crest snowshoe hike later in the month.
Work up an appetite for that quiet dinner for two at Northstar California’s Cupid’s Course Valentine’s Fun Race on the PicMix racecourse, which benefits the Tahoe SAFE Alliance. There will also be a scavenger hunt, along with face painting and fun Valentine’s Day themed EpicMix photos around the mountain.
Enjoy a romantic mountaintop Valentine’s Dinner at Squaw Valley’s High Camp on Friday, February 14. A full moon night is paired with a spectacular tram ride to 8200' and an exquisite 4 course prix-fixe menu that welcomes both couples and families. Our favorite part is the complimentary glass of champagne.
Sierra-at-Tahoe will be hosting Sweets on the Slopes on Friday, where you can start the day with turns on the slopes and then unwind on the Plaza Deck with your sweetie while enjoying a special wine tasting with three of El Dorado's finest wineries. Boeger Winery, Madroña Vineyards and Lava Cap Winery will be pouring different varietals showcasing the area's top wines.
If you’re ready to take the next step with your Valentine, then Homewood Mountain Resort’s “I do, with a view” wedding ceremony is just for you. This event will take place on Friday, February 14, 2014 at mid-mountain, just below the resort’s iconic Big Blue View Bar – a location that provides for panoramic Lake Tahoe views unrivaled in the Tahoe basin.
Should that be more commitment than either of you are ready for, then how about a 4-course prix-fixe menu at Homewood’s West Shore Café and Inn?
How are you celebrating Valentine’s Day? Let us know in the comments.
