We may be reaching the home stretch of Winter 11/12 but things show no sign of slowing down! A ‘Miracle March’ has left the resort with excellent coverage and fantastic conditions and there looks to be several more storms moving through for the first half of April so don’t put away your powder skis just yet!
As we enter this final quarter for the winter season, look forward to a handful more powder days and back-to-back weekends of world class events. Kicking off our stretch of big events is the Northface Masters of Snowboarding - this weekend – followed by the Subaru Freeskiing World Championships next weekend. Both events bring in athletes from around the world, impressive cash prize purses and are exciting for competitors and spectators alike! Following the big mountain comps is the Twisted Sisters (April 14th) - Presented by 4FRNT & Kirkwood, Twisted Sisters is a big mountain and freeride competition in one. The course will test the riders’ skills in steep terrain as well as their confidence on man-made features. And of course the Legendary Kirkwood Banked Slalom (April 21st) – in its 18th year, the Banked Slalom is a fun event and a local’s favorite.
