Despite the saying, you can have your cake and eat it too. Rather, you can ski or snowboard at Lake Tahoe and not worry about missing the big game. Many of the Tahoe ski resorts are showing the Super Bowl as well as getting into the spirit with parties, deals, and more. So you’ll be able to get your shred on AND root for the Patriots or the Seahawks (or both).
Mt. Rose-Ski Tahoe is celebrating the Super Bowl all weekend long with ticket specials including a $119 two day ticket + rental special (2 consecutive days), a $99 Super Bowl Sunday special that includes two lift tickets and two breakfast burritos, and a $59 Local’s ticket (Nevada ID required). On Saturday, enjoy live music on the Main Lodge Deck with Mojo Green.
Super Bowl 49 will be a full day event at Sierra-at-Tahoe. Ski or snowboard for as low as $49 by purchasing tickets in advance on Liftopia – tickets available in limited quantities – and enjoy fun games during Sierra Game day with friends and family on the new, 30,000 sq ft Solstice Plaza. And since nothing quite screams Super Bowl like outdoor games (right?), there will be pony hop races, giant Jenga and corn hole. Those looking to channel their inner quarterback on snow will enjoy the addition of footballs. The game will be live on every screen in the Sierra Pub and just in case you need it, there will be a complimentary shuttle back to South Lake Tahoe when the game is over.
When you finish skiing at Heavenly, kick back and catch the game on the big screens at Tamarack Lodge at the top of the Gondola or California Lodge at the California base area. Both locations will feature food and drink specials from 3:30-5:30. The bar at California Lodge now boasts 97 tequilas to sample, and if that’s not enough, they now have traditional Mexican street tacos for $2.50 a pop. Fiesta!
And if you're the type that prefers snow time to TV time, you'll be happy to hear that Sugar Bowl will be offering $50 lift tickets for those who purchase in advance.
